My Uncle bobo

Hello everyone!  TGIF!  Hope you all had a great week!  I didn't get much crafting done but I'm sure hoping that I will be able too this weekend!

Today I'm here to share with you my latest make with the new release image from Sandra Caldwell.  It's called Uncle Bobo and you can find it in the store here.

I have been having fun in a book that I purchased from Dollartree.  I'm doing blackout poetry.  And while I'm doing this I also want to have added interest to that book and that is being done right now with this great image.

I cut out some circles using what I had around me (I was away crafting for the weekend with my friend Erin when I made this).

I sprayed the page with black pearlized homemade spray.  The image was colored with my copics and then fussy cut out.  The sentiment was part of the stuff that I cut out of magazines.

Here is the closer look at the image.

I'm entering this layout in the following challenges:

  1. Crafty creations challenges - Anything goes
  2. Creative moments - Anything goes
  3. Inspiration destination challenge - Anything goes
  4. Crafty sentiments - Anything goes
  5. Tuesday throwdown - Anything goes
I hope you have a great day!!!

Steampunk Silly

Hello everyone!  I'm hosting a challenge over at Sandra Caldwell FB page it's all about Steampunk!  And she put 6 yes 6 images for sale at 1/2 off!!!  Including 2 new release!!!

I have made a few videos that will be airing in the following days but one is on today.  I made a JOOTB (journaling out of the box) here is the video if you want to see that one.  This shows me using the gorgeous Bearly a Steampunk that you can find here.
And here are 2 cards that I made.  There were some birthdays coming up and even if I didn't use birthday sentiments I thought they were perfect for those b-day.

The 1st one is using a digi that Sandra created for this challenge.  She offered it to me the day that my baby Max passed.  I told her how much it meant to see this kitty since I had just lost mine.  Sandra gave me the biggest surprise of all by naming the digi after my baby!  So here is Steampunk Kitty Max.  I colored him like my tabby kitty.  And I'm giving this card to my oldest son for his birthday next week.  He loves cats and I'm sure that this will mean a lot to him as well.
The paper that I used for this make is from Bobunny I think.  I'm losing track of my papers lol.  I used a sentiment that I thought was quite fitting with this little guy and I fussy cut the image and the sentiment.  The image was colored with my copics as well as some coloring pencils and Chameleon pens.

Here is the 2nd card that I made this time using Full body Steampunk hippo that you can find here.
The papers that I used for this card are from a pack of scraps from AC Moores and some scraps from my desk.  I also added a sentiment found online.  I fussy cut the image and it was colored with my new Chameleon pens.  I really love those pens.  I added some wood gears to finish it off.  Since there were 2 corners that felt blank I added some stamping for those.

I'm entering those cards in the following challenges:

  1. Alphabet challenge blog - D is for Decoupage
  2. jw scrap shack - Anything goes
  3. Qkr stampede - Feminine card or anything goes - ok you might not believe me but the hippo card was for an amazing friend the godmother of my oldest son.  I thought she would love the sentiment!  And she did :)  So it was for a women.
  4. 2craftycrittercrazies - Anything goes with a critter
  5. Shopping our stash - Back to basic fussy cut - did that for both cards.
Hope you have a great weekend!  Here the weather is dreary but at least I will be able to craft!!!  Miss it!!!

Owl be Elvis

Hello everyone!  It's FRIDAY!!!  WOOOHOOO I'm so very happy about that!  I'm very much looking forward to crafting this weekend!!!  Hopefully LOTS of it.

Today I'm here to share with you a brand new image from Sandra Caldwell that you can find in the shop here on Etsy.  The one that I used is called Owl be Elvis

To make this card I used some papers from my stash (got lots and didn't mark what it was down).  The sentiment was stamped using small alphabet stamps.  I put the little owl on a wobble so that he shakes shakes shake :)  The image itself was colored with my Chameleon pens.  Still learning how to use them!

I always have trouble making masculine cards but I think this one came out pretty good!

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Crafting-with-friends - Anything goes
  2. The sisterhood of crafters  - the letter "b" - bird, birthday and bubbles on the paper!
  3. The crafty addicts - Use a die cut/ anything goes - so anything goes here...
  4. 2 crafty critter crazies - anything goes with a critter on it
  5. Shopping our stash - back to basic do fussy cutting, that's what I did for the owl as well as for the sentiment.
That's it for me for today!  Hope you have a great Friday!!!

Soul book start

Well I finally did it!!!  I started out my soul book!  I'm so happy about that because I have been wanting to do something to document this year and having a hard time to commit to something. This seems like something that I can totally do.  I have found the soul book via the youtube channel of Christie B and you can also find her blog here.

And I had been super lucky to have a great shop owner on Etsy give me one of her beautiful mandalas.  You can see the mandala that I used here.  It's from Coloring Craft Shack.

I have made a video to share with you all my mental process through this.  It was quite emotional and unexpected.  I didn't start of thinking that I would do this entire page... it just happened.

And here is the journaling spread that I have made.
As my son said this is totally not my typical style... but I really love how it turned out.  It's the start page of the book.  I used some acrylic paints, a stencil, a stamp from Eclectica and some stamping with a mat, stabilo pencil and some pitt pen.  The mandala was colored with some gel pens as well as coloring pencils.  And then I fussy cut it out.

I'm entering this spread in the following challenges:

Spring Bud Hippo - Sandra Caldwell new release

Hello and happy Friday everyone!  What a week.  I have been working later at work... this means getting home later... preparing the meal later and obviously after eating well it's time for bed... almost anyway lol.  This means no crafty time for me and I miss it!!!

But because it's Friday it also means that there are new release over at Sandra Caldwell's etsy store.  And you can find this super cute Spring Bud Hippo there.

I made a video of the process of this.

And here is a closer look at my mixed media journaling out of the box.  The sentiment was found online and typed on a word document and then torn out.

I used a bunch of left over papers for this as well as a silicone mat for stamping.  The texture paste is from Heidi Swapp.  I colored the super cute hippo with my copics and then fussy cut her out.  I added a bit of sparkly washi at the bottom so that she is kind of doing a tight rope split lol.

I'm entering this mixed media piece in the following challenges:

  1. Crafting by designs - Anything goes
  2. Crafty sentiments - anything goes
  3. Inspiration destination challenge blog - Anything goes

Lucy Loo "sniff" - The East Wind new release

Well there's a brand new release image by Unky over at the East Wind Etsy store. And because it's a Lucy Loo I just HAD to play with her.

However I'm very sad because I made a video to share with you all and my memory card bugged... and so the video didn't register properly :(

I was playing in one of my junk journal, the one that I made for my vacation last year but didn't really use.

I found a sentiment in a magazine that I thought would go well with her.

The background to the page is done in Panpastel.  I had done the entire book that way to have some sort of background.  I used some of my newest washis :)  love love love washi (you can see my haul's videos about that lol).  The image was colored with my copics and then I fussy cut her out.  I added some gel roll pen to her wings.  I also used a silicone mat to do some stamping.  And I got some paper scraps from a fellow youtuber and used some of it here.

I'm entering this journaling in the following challenges:

  1. Color inspiration monday - Anything goes hand colored
  2. Dragonfly dreams challenges - Anything goes
  3. We love 2 create - Anything goes mixed media
  4. Crafts and me inspiration - Things with wings

I decided to  use this great sketch:

And here is my card.

The image that I used is called Chocolate Bunny

I followed this fab sketch

And here is the card that I created.  This one is for a little boy.  So I didn't want it to be too girly.
The paper is from American Craft - Amy Tangerine.  I used copics to color this image as well as my wink of Stella in gold for the foil.  I fussy cut the image.  I used my grand square and my circle die from Spellbinder.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I finished this card with a little bit of bling on the sentiment.

For this card I used a great image that you can find over at Sandra Caldwell's etsy store it's named Smelling flower bunny.

I needed some inspiration and used this great sketch to make it.

I'm really happy with how cheerful this card turned up like!
The bunny was colored with my copics and then fussy cut out.  I used paper from the set American Crafts - Amy Tangerine.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I used my spellbinder circle die and my Quickutz oval die to make this.

Opening Flower - Alphabet journaling

Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.  I'm still sort of out of it.... the vacation made it hard for me to get back into a routine.  I'm kind of out of it.  And because of the vacation I'm a day late to share this make with the great new release freebie image of The East Wind.

All you need to do to be able to get this great image is to register for the news letter!  And you can find the newsletter registration on this site.

I wanted to play in one of my other journals.  One that has been quite neglected actually.  Last year after seeing KagedFish on youtube show her alphabet scavenger hunt I thought I would do the same thing.  So I set up a book to use for that.  But you know me.... I have trouble just gluing papers down without putting some sort of journaling to it.... so I ended up using it for alphabet but with some digital images and basically journaling but with alphabet.  And then I just let it be and didn't play in it anymore...

So today it's playing with it :)  Of course since it's just a book it's better if I don't use too much wet medium so I limited it to some Tattered Angel inks (some of the new ones that I got :) )

Here is the video of my making this:
And here is the journaling page upclose

I colored the image with my copics and then used some gell roll pen on the dress a bit.  I used some little bits of papers that had been sent to me by Rosaleen (this and that on youtube).  Around the bird I used some blue stabilo pencil and used some water to make it spread a bit.  The tattered angel sprays used are from the set Lucky and the set Easter.  The fun part of this journaling is that there is book text already in the back of this therefore some interest already created that doesn't need to be added.

I'm entering this journaling in the following challenges:

  1. Altered eclectics - Anything goes no card
  2. Connie can crop - Reuse reduce recycle - I'm using a book for the journal, the bits of papers where left over that a fellow crafter gave me instead of throwing away (you can see the bottom piece of paper is one that had been used for dies or something of the sort).
  3. Crafty hazelnuts patterned paper - Anything goes using patterned paper
  4. A bit more time to craft - Anything goes
  5. Creatalicious challenges - Anything goes with the option of flowers - used a digi that had a flower on it.
That's it for this post.  Hope you like what I have done and will go and check out the newsletter!

And I used another great sketch this time from Sketch Saturday.
and here is the card that I made with this fabulous image
And I used the paper from Simple stories - Legacy.  I used my Quickutz ovals for this as a background.  I used some Robin's nest dew drops.  The sentiment was found online and I used my copics to color this image and then I fussy cut it up.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Sketch saturday - Sketch
  2. Lemon shortbread challenge - Anything goes
  3. Incy wincy designs - Happy b-day

Rosie Chick

I have some birthdays coming up and I really needed to get going on making some cards.  I have been slacking in that respect recently.

There's a totally fabulous sale over at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy store and it's up until the 3rd of April.  There are tons of images for 1.5$ instead of 3$.  Such a great great deal!!!!

For this card I'm using the Rosie Chick image.  And I wasn't sure what to do for this card so I went and checked out Wednesday Sketch over at Outlawz and as usual they had a great sketch which ended up being the base for my make.

Here is my card
The paper that I used for this is from Kaisercraft - Confetti.  I added a little ribbon, a flower from prima.  The image was cut using the grand nestabilities oval dies.  I used a great sentiment that my friend Lisa from Decosse dynamite Doodles.  The image was colored with my copics.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

  1. Outlawz Wednesday Challenge - Sketch
  2. Just-add-ink - Just add criters

1 hare is good 2 is better!

Happy Friday to you all!  I'm so tired this week it's crazy... and we lose one sleeping hour on the weekend... that will be HARD lol.  But at least spring is coming and that is good.  Right now however it's still really really cold so we are still feeling as though it's still winter.

Anyway, Sandra has made some great new release images!  And I'm sharing one with you all.  Just love it.  It was perfect to send a little hello to my stepmom who loves rabbits.  So I made her a postcard.  You can see the process here:

and here is the look at the postcard finished!  It's a real mixed media piece because there's loads on there.

I have used paints, ribbon, tissue paper, left over other papers and to finish it off a pitt pen marker all this on a cereal box cardboard.

The image was colored with my copics and then fussy cut.  I made the sentiment in a word document and fussy cut it out as well.  On the back end side there's a postcard blank base that was stamped on white paper.

You can see the making of this journaling out of the box (JOOTB) in the following video

And here is a closer look at the piece.

Bloom with sunshine - Mixed media journaling

Hey everyone!  How is the week going for you?!?  In my case I need more sunshine!  And I have done just the perfect spread for this.  I have used the new freebie of The East wind if you are registered for the newsletter here.

I really needed to do some journaling!  and bright colors!

You can see the making of this here

And here is the spread.  I have used some acrylic paints as well as stencils and left over bits of papers.

The stamping was done with a silicone mat.  I have colored the image with my copics and then fussy cut her out.  The sentiment is an altered card that I got in a swap!  Just love it and needed to include it in my make.  I didn't want it to be fixed permanently because my swap partner made this beautiful on both sides... So really wanted to be able to still see the other side.  I used some washi tape to fix some acetate down to make a pocket.  That's why you see the glare.

I'm entering this spread in the following challenges:

  1. Digi choosday - Anything goes
  2. Ikes world challenge blog- Anything goes with twist of a sentiment ( there's one on the card that I used)
  3. Glitter n sparkle challenge blog - Anything goes
  4. We love 2 create - Anything goes
  5. More mixed media challenge - anything goes
That's it for me!  Hope you have a great day!!!

Another Birthday oh my

Hello!  I'm back with another birthday card.  Told you last week that I had LOADS to do... I wasn't lying lol  I wanted to make this one all weekend but I felt really bad... to the point that my daughter actually forced me to stay sitting down doing nothing.

Not easy getting old, body parts hurt.... and blood pressure goes haywire on you for no apparent reason just here and there....  oh well that is life isn't it. And speaking of getting old here is the birthday card that I was talking about.  I used another fabulously glamourous girl from Sandra Caldwell called Miss Lula Mae.  She's on special until tomorrow at 1.5$ what a great deal here.  And she's on special because there's a contest on FB group page to use her!!! That contest also ends tomorrow.  So join in!!!  You will see the link in the challenges that I'm entering because of course you KNOW I will be joining in.

Now there's also over at Outlawz for the entire month a sponsoring from Sandra for the sketch challenge.  So I figured I would use that fab sketch this week again. It really helps because I haven't been doing many cards recently so it's great to have a starting point.  And my card from last week was showcased this week!!!  I was super excited about that.

I had a strip of paper (maybe it was given to me... I don't remember) and it was 2 sided.  Just perfect for this card.  That was the starting point.  Then I really wanted to punch this up a bit hence the yellow :)  I was really wondering what to use for the corner instead of a flower because I wanted it to stay fairly flat (it's going oversea...).  When looking around I found a jar of buttons of odd shapes that I had gottern as a gift from my dad going to garage sale!  Score!!!  The image was colored with my copics.  I added gel roll pen on the glasses and the jewelry.  And the glasses where layered with glossy accent.  The sentiment is from Imagine that.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

  1. Outlawz challenges sketch challenge
  2. Sandra Caldwell FB group - glam girls
  3. Corrosive challenges - Anything goes
  4. Crafty friends challenge blog - Anything goes
  5. Brown sugar challenge - Rhinestone and/or ribbon - went with ribbon
That's it for me for tonight!!!  Hope you have a great evening.

Birthday card

Hello!  There's always a need for new b-day cards.  And when you find images that are on special at 1.5$ well that is even better!  The card that I made is using a great image called glamour nana it's from Sandra Caldwell and you can find it here.

And right now she's sponsoring over at Outlawz sketch challenge so it's a great opportunity to win more fabulous images!

I decided to play along with the sketch this week (something that I had not done in quite a long time!)  because I really need some b-day cards for the upcoming months.  So it was perfect.

Here's my card
I colored the image with copics and then fussy cut her out.  The glasses were covered with some glossy accent and I put some gel roll pen on the earings as well as on the glasses.  It doesn't really show on the picture but they are all shiny.  The sentiment is from my good friend Lisa Decosse, she had provided me with a bunch of different bonne fête sentiments!  The paper is from a freebie pack received with a subscription to Quick cards.  And I finished this card with a bit of washi.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

  1. Outlawz challenges - sketch challenge
  2. Sandra Caldwell Stamp FB group  - Glamour girl contest
  3. Everybody-art-challenge.blogspot - Doing for the girls only
  4. A perfect time to craft - Anything goes

Dreams demand patience - The East wind

Hey everyone!  Happy hump day!  Hope your week is great so far.  I can't wait for the weekend for more play time lol but so far the week is still good.

Today I'm here to share with you 2 new digis from The East Wind.  One that you can get as a Freebie if you are registered for the newsletter here.

For that one I decided to make a journal spread and just have fun and also remind myself that it will take time and patience to make my dreams come true but they will happen!

So here is the video if you want to see it:
And here is the spread.

I used my dylusions paints for this I hadn't played with them in a while.  I added some stenciling.  The dreams is a project life card that I thought was perfect for this and was actually the color inspiration for this spread.  The image was colored with my copics.  I stamped using my rubber placemat.

And here is the 2nd make that I did for today.  This time it's using a brand new digi that you can find here
I used this image to make a divider for my happy planner.  I just HAD to play with this image since my sign in the Chinese horoscope is the Rooster :)  I used my Spellbinder Big oval die to cut out the shaper under her.  The tab was made with a studio calico die and I added a text to it that was typed with my dad's old typewriter!  Love love it.   The image was colored with my copics.  The proverb was stamped with little letter stamps that I purchased way back at Michael's (took forever to write this and boy oh boy was I nervous to make a spelling mistake!!!  I had written it on a piece of paper as well lol).

I'm entering this makes in the following challenges:

  1. Addicted to stamps-challenge - Make your mark - both would apply for this but I will use the journaling page for it.
  2. Crafting by designs - Anything goes
  3. Crafty creations challenges - Anything goes
  4. Creative moments - Anything goes
  5. The house that stamps built - Anything but a card
Have a fabulous Wednesday night!!!

Recycled Christmas cards wk 5

Yes I managed to do it again!!!  Recycled more Christmas cards :)  My stash is getting bigger and I'm feeling quite encouraged by this.

Not only am I getting those cards done but I'm also using stickers that hardly stick anymore...and bits of papers left from tons of previous projects.  And even doing this my scrap pile doesn't seem to diminish.  At least I know that I'm finally using my stuff!  And that was a big resolution for me this year.

You can watch the process of how I turned 3 cards into those :)

As mentioned in the videos I use premade card bases that I have had also for years!  My god the stuff that we hoard... or I should say "I" hoard!!!

I'm entering this set of cards in the following challenges:

Solitary confinement - Oddball

Hello!  Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.  I'm here today to share with you a make that I did for Oddball.  My last make as a dt.  I loved my time and I think it's time for me to step down.

I really wanted to make a piece that was representative of me as of the moment.  I really do need that alone time to craft and do some art.  Recently one of my kids (as they were all going to the movie theatre) mentioned how I would miss them and would be lonely.  He is right I would be if it was for a very long period of time... but I'm finding that more and more I do need that time alone with myself to just play.  So no I wasn't going to miss them for 2.5 hours lol.  Actually I thought they came back way too fast!

For this last make I'm using the wonderful image 363.  He was just perfect for the little out of the box journaling that I wanted to do.  You can watch me on the video here.
And here is my little journaling make
I found the wording in a magazine and just thought this was just absolutely PERFECT for this.  The background was a piece of what I think is wall paper that was given to me in a swap.  I colored this fabulous image with my copics.

I'm entering this in the following challenges;

  1. Crafting-with-friends - Anything goes
  2. Creative fingers challenge blog - Anything goes
  3. Jo's scrap shack - Anything goes
  4. Creative moments - Anything goes
  5. Inspiration destination challenge blog - Anything goes
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!  Don't forget to go and check out my giveaway on Youtube!!!

Just Breathe you got this journal - Jen of Eve Design DT make

Hello everyone!  I made this album out of paper and recycled cardboard using the wonderful templates from Jen of Eve Designs that you can find here.  The templates make it so easy to make!!!

I decided to make it 6x6.  Which is also one thing that I love with Jen of Eve designs template is that you don't waste papers! And you can use little bits from other projects as well.  For this I used some papers from 7gypsies called Epicurean that you can find here.  It's such a great paper pad for this type of project.

You can see how I made the album here:
I was wondering what to put on the cover and then I found some ephemera pieces that were just perfect for it!  I think we all need to be reminded to just breathe lol.

I used a ribbon as the closure.

The metal corner pieces are from my stash.

Here is a look from the side.  There's still room for the person that gets this to add pictures and ephemeras.
And here it is opened up.  You can see there's many many journaling spots!

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
  1. Get creative challenges - Anything goes
  2. Use your stuff - use 3 6x6 papers - I used a whole lot more!  So happy to use my stuff!
  3. A bit more time to craft - Anything goes
  4. Country view challenges - anything goes
  5. Crafty hazelnuts patterned paper - anything goes using patterned paper
That's it for me for today!  Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Hugs
