Sexy and I know it - Karleigh Sue

Hello!  I'm here to share with you my inspiration post for Karleigh Sue for the month of August.  I wanted this month to convince you to try to use all your left over paints and other medium for future use.

In my case for this one I had made a brusho background and I used my little index card to wipe up the excess.  It was the perfect start to a background for the image Sexy and I know it.

I made a super short video to share with you the process here:

And here's the view of the ICAD ( the term is used for Index card a Day - but most of us use it just to refer to an index card because not many actually do one a day....)

Using leftovers like this really does jump start your creative process!!! This image was colored with copics and fussy cut.  I also have to admit to being totally ADICTED to magazine cut outs... so much fun using pre-typed sentiments this way.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Crafty sentiments - Anything goes
  2. Digichoosday - Anything goes
  3. Ikes world challenge blog - Travel/Holidays - I'm going with holidays because that is when I use my bikini the most and well where rules are the most broken *wink wink
  4. Sunny day crafting - Anything goes
  5. Crafting from the heart challenge blog - Anything goes

Hope you like it and that it does give you some inspiration.  Have a fabulous Friday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Calavera Rosa - Faery ink

Calavera Rosa was just the type of image that my new journal required.

I really adore darker images and I don't play with them very often.  But let's be honest this one is not that dark at all just a little bit more than the usual ones :)
Journaling is now like breathing for me... I really need to do it otherwise I'm wilting like a flower lol well really I am!!!  And I haven't played with my inks in forever so that's what I did here with my distress inks.
Calavera Rosa

The image was colored with my copics while I was out by my pool!  Yeah well it's summer time right?!? and what better activity to do by your pool?!?  :)
I'm entering this in the following challenges:

  1. Left of center challenges - I went with LOC and not the friend's possibility
  2. Dream in darkness - Make it crafty and dark :)
  3. Dark n daring - Anything goes
Hope you have a fabulous Thursday everyone.

Mirrorina - The East Wind

There's a fabulous new release image over at The east wind and I really HAD to play with this one. Just love her.  I had a background that was almost complete from doing another make.  If you want to see how check out this video

Just love when something comes together without any effort!

The image was colored with my copics and an american craft silver glitter pen.  I added some wink of stella all over the image to give it a shimmer like you would get from a mirror.  The sentiment was found while doing a search on google.  To finish this off I distressed some music sheet and doodled around the edge and Voilà!

I hope you will go and check her out and that I will have inspired you!!!  Have a great Tuesday and come back later for another post!

The east Wind challenge - Paper piecing

Well yesterday I mentioned how summer is just flying by and that Christmas is just around the corner... well today I'm sharing with you a CHRISTMAS card.  YUP I said the word Christmas.

The new challenge for The east wind is paper piecing and since I'm soooooo behind making my Christmas card that I really really had to get going.  This challenge was just perfect for it and I used the super fun image Baby it's cold outside.

I made a little video of my process here because I thought that it might be interesting for you guys to see.
And here is my card for you
I really love how it turned out.  I used a lot of dies in this one which are happy because they have been sitting in my stash for awhile...  so I used Elizabeth craft dies snowflake, Label 14, Picot edge as well as large circle from Spellbinder.  I put a little bow and finished this off with some bling from recollection.  The sentiment and image were edged with my victorian velvet distress ink.

I'm entering this little card in the following challenges:

  1. Glitter n sparkle challenge blog - anything goes
  2. Inkspirational challenges - Patterned paper
  3. Stamping with dragon - christmas in August
That's it for me!  Have a fabulous Monday.

Mixed media journaling Trick the witch

Oddball August FB challenge midway

Hello everyone!  It's already midway in the month of August.  Boy oh boy where does the time go?!? 1st thing we know it will be Christmas again....

For now however I still have my last vacation on my mind.  I shared with you all a video on my youtube channel what I was planning for my vacation.  And unlike the previous years, I ran out of pages in my smash book!  So I had to find another book to be able to record the last days of our vacation.

I was lucky I found a book that was really awesome at Staples but the cover was really BLAH... I had to do something to personalize this!  And good thing for me I had a great image from Oddball that was perfect for it.  It's the awesome image 312.

I colored this image with my coloring pencils this time around unlike most images that I color with my copics.  I actually colored this image while on vacation!  I really love love love how this turned out!!!

I'm entering this little journal cover in the following challenges:
  1. Challenge up your life - travel
  2. Crafty calendar challenge - Summer fun
  3. Live laugh stamp - Something hand colored
  4. Patties creations challenge - anything goes
  5. C.R.A.F.T. - Anything goes
That's it for me for today!!!  I hope that I get some crafting time!  Really missed getting messy in my craft space while I was away :)

Oddball Design FB challenge - August

Hello!  It's time for a new challenge on the FB group of Oddball Design.  And for this I decided to use the wonderful image 296 which you can find here.

The background for this journaling that was done in a modified book was done with brushos.  I love that you can't really know in advance how this is going to turn out!  I used a stamp border to do the edge.  The image was colored with my copics and I used some prima chalk ink around the sentiment.

If you don't have any images from Oddball you should go and check out the great Etsy store and you can use this code DTVICKY10 to get a 10% discount on your purchases.

Hope you enjoy your day and your stay creative!!!

How does your garden grow - Midway point - Scribbles challenge

This is a sad post!!!  It's my last post (at least for now) on the Scribbles Design Team.  I have had so much fun in that team.  Such wonderful ladies in it and of course Sandy the wonderful artist!!!

For this last post which is the midway point of the challenge How does your garden grow, I decided to use the wonderful  A68 Smile sparkle and shine.  I think it really represents this team and the challenge :)

This image was made into a postcard.  I'm sure that it will brighten someone's day.  I used my coloring pencils for this as well as my gel pens.

I hope you are staying creative and please come back since there will be one more post coming up!!!

The east Wind - Stars and planet

Hello!  It's already time for a new challenge over at The East Wind and it's about stars and planet.

The freebie that you get if you are registered for the newsletter is totally YUMMY!!!!  You will adore it!

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do here.   But in the end the inspiration just popped right on over :)  I found a quote online that I thought was going to be perfect for this.

Here's my journaling done in my dylusion journal.
the quote was done using my brother label maker.  I added a bunch of gold and silver sequin stars.  The background was done using my black pan pastel.

Here's a closer look at the image colored with my copics in light blues.  The hair looks white in the picture :( but it's a light blue!
I hope you will come and join us in the challenge this time around.  And if you are not registered for the newsletter what is stopping you?!?

Have a fabulous day everyone!!!
